We also cater to an array of competive riding; whether your discipline is dressage, jumpers or eventing, we have the experience and knowledge to help you prepare and compete successfully.
We have two instructors: Patricia Minter is the senior instructor and the owner of Patusan Farm.
Patty has produced national champions or national caliber horses in all three disciplines of English riding--eventing, dressage, and jumping.
After reschooling Shari Santella's "Thomas Magnum" from a western pleasure horse to dressage, she rode him to the USDF Appaloosa and Appaloosa Sport Horse of the Year award at training level and to the reserve placing at first level before training him through third level to obtain her bronze medal.
In the jumper realm, she partnered her own off-the-track Thoroughbred, "Ralphie!" with her student Rachel Church, then thirteen years old, and coached them to a 24th place ranking nationally in the Marshall and Sterling Children's Jumper League at 3'6".
And with Dr. Laila Avetta's "Crosswind" she rode to a 17th place finish at the National Eventing Championships before riding her own horse, "Hot Brown" to a 7th place victory.
Her talent for matching riders with appropriate horses has helped Patusan horses and students earn innumerable national and regional awards in these three disciplines.
Because of her dedication to correct education, Patty has worked with such jumper notables as Judy Richter, US Olympic rider, Anne Kursinski, and extensively with Irish Olympian Kevin Babington as well as eventing Olympians Karen O'Connor, Stephen Bradley, Phillip Dutton and Lucinda Green. In dressage, she has worked with USDF certified instructors Shelley Lawder, and Nicky Vogel as well as Betsy and Jess Steiner, JJ Tate, and the legendary Charles de Kunffy.
In addition to her successful competitive career, Patty and her horses have demonstrated their educational and inspirational value with televised performances on Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, in National Geographic's Best Educational Film of the Year, "Not Worth a Continental" and in a motivational advertisement for The Governor's Council Against Drug Abuse and Alcoholism. In 2008, she was selected by Betsy Steiner to be the demonstration rider at the Sussex Horse Exposition in New Jersey for a demo/lecture on understanding and using the training scale.

Successfully competes her own horse, Gitane, as well as a variety of training horses, including a sixth and seventh place finish in 2008 at Dressage at Devon on one of her young horses in training.
Having received the foundation of her education in Germany, Lisa now resides full-time in the US where she teaches and trains at Patusan Farm and nearby farms in addition to maintaining a busy clinic and judging schedule. For more information, or to contact Lisa, visit her web site:
